All that you need to know about Global Alphathon
Break into the world of quantitative finance and participate in WorldQuant BRAIN’s 2022 Global Alphathon — one of the world’s largest quant competitions.
The Global Alphathon is a three-stage, team-based competition running from August to November 2022. Using WorldQuant BRAIN’s web-based simulation platform, Global Alphathon participants accumulate points by building alphas* using historical market data and predefined operators to simulate equity positions.
*Alphas are mathematical models that seek to predict the future price movements of various financial instruments.
About WorldQuant and WorldQuant BRAIN:
Headquartered in the US, WorldQuant is a quantitative asset management firm founded in 2007 with over 750 employees spread across 13 countries. We seek to produce high-quality predictive signals (alphas) through our proprietary research platform. These signals are employed in financial strategies across a variety of asset classes and global markets.
Through the WorldQuant BRAIN program, we also work with global talent to be a part of our greater research efforts by contributing alphas and other quantitative finance algorithms.
So far we have engaged with 3000+ global users on the platform, more than 700 of whom have been onboarded as BRAIN research consultants

Guidelines:
Participants accumulate points by building alphas. Your team will be evaluated on both the quality and the number of your alpha submissions.
Each qualifying alpha is scored based on its performance against other alphas submitted by the other participants in the Global Alphathon. Because the competition is team-based, the scores for each individual on a team are aggregated to produce a team score.
Top scoring teams from each round will qualify to move on to the next stage of the competition. The number of teams that move on after each round is progressively smaller, with only 1 or 2 teams qualifying to represent each nation or region in the global finals.
